We must all be certain that reading a story, whether short or long, helps us to get out of our own lives and go into the lives of other people and dive into them. One of the most beautiful things said in this regard specifically by Al-Aqqad, may God have mercy on him, is: “I read because one life is not enough for me.”
Reading short stories (stories and morals) gives you millions of opportunities to benefit from the experiences of others, take the best from them, and avoid their mistakes. This enables one of us to pass through the lives of thousands simply by reading their stories and acting on what they contain.
The most important thing is that we must deal with the fact that reading is food for the mind, and we cannot live normally except by enjoying reading, nourishing our minds, and raising them to the highest levels.
The first story:
It is said that in ancient times a student traveled to one of the famous cities at that time, and when he felt how much he loved the city he had settled in and got used to its people, he bought a house and put in it the furniture he needed, and he divided his time equally between work and study, but this matter meant that he did not find time for housework, so he did not have time for cooking, washing, cleaning, and the like.
The young man decided to buy a slave girl to do his household chores. He went to the slave market and began searching for the most suitable one for the task among them all. The young man's eyes fell on a beautiful slave girl with a face like the full moon and a body like a mare. The young man was unable to take his eyes off her because of her extreme beauty, so he went ahead to buy her.
After the negotiations, the young man paid the price and wrote the sale deed. When the slave girl prepared to leave and go with her new master, suddenly and without any warning, she behaved in a strange way to all onlookers. She returned to the slave trader who had just sold her and slapped him in the face so hard that it almost blew out his jaw!
The slave trader's eyes bulged in astonishment at everyone and anticipation of what would happen. The slave trader wanted to take revenge and return the slap to the slave girl, but the young man stood between him and her and informed him that she was no longer his property so that he would dare raise his hand against her, and that he had become her master and guardian.
Then the slave trader insisted that he get her back at any price he wanted, even if it was several times what he had bought her for. Then the young man informed him in front of everyone that his slave girl was not for sale!
The young man, with great wisdom, advised him to forget the matter completely, as it was unlikely that the news of his neighbor slapping him would spread, and then it would become a laughingstock for everyone and a common topic that everyone would never tire of talking about or listening to.
The young man set off with his slave girl to his house, and as soon as they arrived, he prepared a hot bath for her, so she washed herself, and he prepared perfume for her, so she perfumed herself. As soon as she finished preparing herself, she found that he had prepared for her all kinds and colors of delicious food, so the slave girl sat next to the young man at the dining table, which was like a banquet, and ate with great gusto. She was looking at him with great comfort, and on her face was a smile of innocence, how beautiful it was.
She was in this state, and as soon as the suspicion and confusion between them had subsided, she confided in him, saying: “Why didn’t you ask me why I slapped the slave trader?!”
The young man answered him with complete calm: “I knew the answer and did not wait for it, and I do not think that you slapped him except to take revenge on him, not to assault him.”
The maid said to him: “You are right, but do you know why he was taking revenge on him?!”
The young man answered her, saying: “She was free and enslaved, and I wanted her to be tamed, but she was not tamed, so she was tortured and harmed.”
The slave girl was astonished by his response and said: “You are right. By God, I have never seen anyone like you in my entire life, but how did you get all this?!”
The young man answered her, saying: “I benefited from knowledge, I rose from it, and I was created for it, and I returned to it.”
The slave girl answered him, saying: “Did the three of them teach you about the pain of slavery and the humiliation of servitude?!”
The young man said immediately without hesitation: “Go, you are free.”
The girl left his house and was thus free. She soon returned to him with an old man and two witnesses. As soon as she saw the young man, she said to him: “I am foolish to have known you and let you go. I have married myself to you.”

The second story:
Rumors spread that the woman who became an icon of feminist thought and the spearhead of Western thought in beloved Egypt after she incited all the women of Egypt, some of whom had lost their minds, to rebel against their husbands and not to stab them, out of a desire for equality, freedom and independence for women, her words, which were in the context of the advice she gave to women, according to her, caused many divorces and the destruction of many, many homes, and then she married a very wealthy businessman, and the surprise was that he was a married man with children, not caring about all her words throughout her years of work, and that she was a person against polygamy, and that she called on all women not to accept marriage to a man who was married to another woman, and that she was against the idea of a husband marrying another wife!
Most importantly, she was the one who always called for a wife not to accept her husband’s control over her personal life, so she was the first to commit to the opposite of her words and advice as soon as she had the opportunity. She threw her professional career to the wind and accepted her husband’s condition that she leave her job.
Its contradiction is the greatest evidence confirming the truth that feminist thought is nothing but a destructive illusion that no one who calls for it will agree with herself but advises others with it!
And the hour of testing will throw all her words, goals and principles to the wall for her own benefit, and many will remain without their minds, suffering from the destruction of their homes because they followed destructive advice that whoever uttered it threw to the wall with the first test!
