Telling stories to our children is considered one of the most important educational methods in a child’s life, as it plays a major role in attracting the child’s attention and intellectual and mental alertness. It also occupies the first place in the intellectual methods that influence the child’s mind, due to its indescribable pleasure and enjoyment. You can see this yourself in the story that you tell your young child, as you will find him yearning for it and paying attention to it. Most importantly, no matter how many days pass, you will find him repeating the story to you with its events, tones, and the way it is mentioned in its entirety.

One of the most important pieces of advice that we can write down here on our platform is that the story cannot be interrupted at any stage of our children’s lives, whether they are young or old, but it differs in the method of narration and content, and the most successful families are those families that choose their stories with great care.

The story of the red watermelon:

One of the most beautiful and enjoyable Asian mythological stories…

It is said that once upon a time in Vietnam there lived a just and merciful king who had many, many sons. One day, news reached him that one of the young princes did not have good morals and manners with the people around him, so the king ordered that he be placed on a remote island alone to think about his behavior and actions.

Indeed, the little prince was left alone on an island in the middle of the sea. The little prince did not care about what they did to him, especially after they left them. He decided to play and enjoy his time to the fullest. Indeed, he began to play and have fun on the island until sunset, when he decided to build a shelter for himself using tree branches and leaves to protect him from anything.

He slept all night without fear or worry, and when morning came he woke up and went to the trees of the island, ate and enjoyed its fruits and drank from the water of the river in the middle of it. The days passed and the little prince did what he did every day, catching fish from the sea and grilling it over the fire and eating the delicious fruits and drinking from the fresh water of the river. He remained in this state until the day came when he found something new that was the reason for his happiness, ecstasy and determination to make a difference in his life.

On this day, the heat was very intense, so the little prince went to the trees and began searching among them for a fruit that would relieve the intense heat he was suffering from. Then he noticed something strange. He found huge fruits with smooth green peels. He picked one of them to see what it was, but because of its weight, it fell from his hand and rolled until it hit a rock and split in half, revealing its striking red color and some of its symmetrical black seeds.

The little prince approached it, amazed by its beauty, but he began to wonder whether it was possible for him to eat it or whether it was inedible. He decided to taste a small amount of it and wait for what would be permissible for him.

It tasted so good, and nothing happened to him, so every day he looked for a delicious and tasty watermelon, and then he started thinking of a way to get out of the remote island, so he thought of making small boats from the watermelon peel with phrases of distress written on them, so that someone might find them and try to save him.

Indeed, some men saw it on a ship and wanted to follow it and rescue its owner. They reached the island and found him young and alone, so they took him with them. The little prince wanted to take the watermelons and seeds he had collected, and told them his story with his father, the king. The ship owner was impressed by his intelligence and his ability to endure despite his young age, so he decided to make a deal with him.

The young prince agreed to the deal, which stipulated that he would stay with them on the ship for three months, so that they could learn from his intelligence and benefit from his endurance, and then they would return him to Mecca to his father, the king.

Indeed, the days passed and the little prince was very happy in the company of the sailors. Every day he learned something new and added his own touches, as he was characterized by his sharp intelligence. He also planted watermelon seeds in the land of the sailors, and when he completed three months, they returned him to his father, the king. He entered his kingdom with his new favorite fruit, which no one had known about before.

His father, the king, was very impressed by its wonderful taste. He ordered his men to plant it all over the kingdom so that his people could enjoy eating it and savoring its taste, especially on very hot days. The king hosted the sailors and thanked them for everything they had given to their young son. Their elder told them many stories and legends that showed how intelligent his young son was and that he was born to be a ruling king one day.

The sailor's words affected the king greatly and made him regret his bad judgment of his son. The young prince once lived in a very luxurious palace that lacked absolutely nothing, but he had no respect for anyone, whether young or old. His father, the king, was so cruel to him that he learned the greatest lessons he could ever learn in his entire life.

He became a lover of helping others, and became one of the greatest explorers in the world, in addition to his constant insistence on developing his father's kingdom and making it the best ever.
