Short stories are a type of stories that are characterized by their brevity and ease of reading. Despite that, they always contain wisdom and a lesson in every word.

Reading short stories is always recommended for those who do not have enough time to read. A short story will not take more than two minutes to read, but you will truly benefit from it.

The first story:

One day, she was sitting sadly, her tears constantly falling down her cheeks. Her mother approached her and tried to comfort her. Her mother felt the extent of the sadness in her heart and that she felt alone and forgotten, so she told her the story of “Hodeir”…

Hudayr came with a delegation from Yemen to pledge allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. When the delegation arrived, they all asked Hudayr to sit and guard the camels and belongings until they pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God and returned to him. Their request was harsh on his heart, given his young age compared to all of them.

They entered upon the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and pledged allegiance to him and informed him that “Hudayr” was pledging allegiance to him and that he was outside taking care of their belongings. When the meeting between them and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ended and it was time for them to depart, the Messenger of God gave them gifts. They took all the gifts and forgot “Hudayr”, who was at that time taking care of the camels and remembering God Almighty.

They went out to Hudayr, prepared their luggage and departed. They mentioned to Hudayr the gifts that the Messenger of God had given them. Hudayr did not ask about his gift, and how could they forget him?!

While they were on their way back, someone ran after them at full speed and stopped them. He asked them, “Is there a Hadir among you?!”

They said, “Yes.”

He asked them, “Who among you is Hadir?”

Hadir said: “It's me!”

The man said to him: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, has sent me to you with your gift.”

Hadir asked him: “How?!”

The man said to him: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Gabriel came to me and said: God tells you not to forget Hadir.”

Oh, what a state “Hadeer” was at that time, as he said with tears in his eyes: “Oh God, just as you did not forget Hadeer, do not make Hadeer forget you.”

Her mother wanted to tell her that God Almighty knows what is in our hearts, so isn’t it enough for us that God Almighty is our companion, more than all of His creation?!

Is not God sufficient for His servant?

The second story:

Dr. Ahmed Khaled Tawfik tells the story and says that in his childhood at school, a student tore up his book, so he went to his teacher to complain about the student and what she did to him. The teacher was basically the student’s mother. Dr. Ahmed Khaled knew for sure and described his behavior by going to his teacher and complaining about her son to her as a very naive behavior, but he thought at the time that she would be fair and that he would put her in this specific situation and hold her responsible, because she might have been harsh on her son in order to prove how honest she was with herself and how fair she was.

But he tells and says, “How foolish I was at that time when I thought that way!” And that his teacher merely said one thing: “Shame on you, Mishmish!”

As soon as he returned to his seat, he found the student himself mocking and ridiculing him. At that moment, he decided that he would only do one thing, and at that moment he tore up the student’s book immediately. Although he was punished with twenty-six strokes with the edge of the ruler on the top of his hand, he was happy to have taken his right.

The third story:

One day, the big wolf wanted to teach his young ones a lesson in the harsh lessons of life, a lesson in the arts of life and the ability to live. So he went with his young ones to a flock of sheep, and he said to his young ones, pointing to the sheep: “This meat is delicious and tasty, and you will never get enough of it!”

Then he pointed to the shepherd and said, warningly: “But this man’s stick is very painful. One blow from it is enough to end our lives, so be careful not to get caught!”

And a young wolf, one of his cubs, pointed to a small dog next to the shepherd and said: “Father, this one looks like us.”

The big wolf said to him: “If you see this, run away immediately. Run away as soon as you see this creature, because everything we have suffered throughout our lives was caused by this creature. Those who resemble us but do not belong to us are always the cause of our destruction!”

The fourth story:

One day, an eight-year-old boy came home carrying a special letter from his teacher specifically for his mother. As soon as he arrived home, he gave the letter to his mother saying: “Mom, my teacher gave me this letter and asked me not to give it to anyone but you.”

His mother's eyes welled up with tears as she read the contents of the letter aloud: “Your son is a genius, and this school is too small for him, and we don't have good teachers to teach him at a level that matches his level. Please teach him at home.”

His mother started teaching him at home. His mother passed away many years later. One day, he was searching through his mother's things for something and found the same letter. He took it and read what was in it. The surprise was that it said: Your son is mentally ill and we can't allow him to come to school anymore!

He cried for hours over the loss of his mother and wrote in his diary…

I am Thomas Alva Edison, the mentally ill child whose mother turned him into the genius of the century!
