Horror stories are more exciting and suspenseful than other types of stories, and they have many fans and people who constantly search for them. Many of us love hearing this type of story and many of us love to experience it.

The story:
A true story that happened in Ismailia Governorate in our beloved Egypt. Although the story is classified as a horror story that actually happened, its owners and everyone who heard it were unable to explain what happened in it…
An Egyptian wife married a man who worked as a nurse in a government hospital. She lived with him in his family’s house, which included a large number of family members. The wife was able to sell the only plot of land she owned as an inheritance from her late parents, and was able to buy a residential apartment in the middle of an old building.
It was a very small apartment, with furniture that was clearly first-hand, meaning that no one had named it since the widow who lived alone in the apartment had died, and since she had no children or family, the municipality sold the apartment at a public auction with everything it contained after it had remained closed for a long period of time.
The wife did not change the furniture in the apartment and was content with cleaning it and removing the dust that had accumulated over the years. She did not have any money. She worked as a seamstress and her husband was a nurse in a hospital for a small salary. They could barely make ends meet and buy the basics. All she bought was a gas stove and some plates and cooking utensils.
The apartment looked gloomy, as it only overlooked a very small, cluttered courtyard in the middle of the building. However, this wife felt completely satisfied. She was finally able to enjoy independence and peace of mind after suffering for two years with her husband’s family. Not much time had passed since she moved into her apartment and announced her pregnancy. As soon as the months of her pregnancy ended, she gave birth to a very beautiful baby. She gave birth to her baby in the same bedroom as her husband, while she used the other room to receive her guests.
Days passed and the little family was experiencing a lot of joy and happiness. The newborn child reached two years of age. As soon as he turned two, his mother began to notice something suspicious about him. The child was constantly looking at the closet in the bedroom. She noticed him over and over again, but she did not give the matter any importance until she noticed her little one crying and screaming, especially in the middle of the night. She would rush to him and hold him close to her chest until he calmed down and continued sleeping.
Not a single night would pass without the little boy waking up screaming and wailing in a way that would shock his parents. The parents did not know the reason behind their little boy’s crying, especially since he had been healthy and happy all day, playing like any other little boy his age. But when night came, something would happen to him that would make him not stop crying and screaming!
His mother's circle of doubt began with the closet, or rather when she noticed that it opened by itself! She deliberately locked it more than once, and when she came back she found it wide open with every attempt she made to prove the opposite. So she decided to move the closet from its place and look for something unknown behind it and perhaps under it, but she did not find anything, which left her in a state of confusion. Perhaps if she had found something like she thought, it would have been better for herself.
She decided to stay up all night to discover the strange thing that happens to her son every night. Her newborn suddenly woke up as usual, but she had not noticed anything strange before! Her husband decided to bring a sheikh to read the Holy Quran in the house, especially in the room. After that, the child calmed down a little. When the child was able to speak and reached an age that enabled him to talk to his parents and communicate with them, he told his mother that the closet door opens every night and an old woman with a frightening face comes out of it. She used to approach him, so he used to scream and cry for help from her. After that, he became accustomed to her presence and was not afraid of her frightening face or her approaching him. He discovered that she was a good woman despite her ugly appearance.
His mother was terrified when he told her his story, which had always puzzled her, but her husband reassured her that it was just a child talking. However, the puzzling question for the parents remained: How could a child of his age come up with all these details in his story?!
His parents decided to take their little boy to a specialist doctor to check on him. The doctor's diagnosis was that what was happening to their little boy was very normal. Children, especially the isolated ones, have a very broad imagination, an imagination that can take them away from reality. The doctor's advice to them was to make their child social by taking him out to the market and the city and visiting his family and relatives so that he would forget his world!
His mother did everything the doctor advised her to do, and indeed her little boy was busy playing and making friends, and he was happy to go out of the house frequently; but despite all that, he did not stop telling what he saw every night!
He began to tell his story to his friends, and strangely enough, he mastered every word of it, neither adding to it nor subtracting from it. He was happy and cheerful all day long, and at night he slept well, so he stopped screaming and crying. His mother was convinced that his doctor was right in everything he had said, and when he was five years old, she moved his bed to the living room. The old woman began to come out of her closet at night, dragging the ends of her white robe behind her, to spend the entire night next to the little boy, stroking his hair with her hand, and tears running from her eyes.
As for the little boy, he found someone to comfort his loneliness with his new sleep and to prevent him from feeling the fear he felt!
