Mentioning the stories of the prophets and messengers in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet is the greatest evidence that the religion of Islam is a universal and comprehensive religion, a religion that came for all of humanity. A religion that shows us how religion has a close connection to our lives, a religion that came for the benefit of all people, and what it contains is evidence of the extent of the keenness of the prophets and messengers in conveying the call and messages of their Lord.
From the stories of the prophets:
The prophets are the messengers of God Almighty. God sent them to us to guide us to the right path. Their message came so that we might reform ourselves and our affairs and populate the earth. God sent the prophets and messengers with the law and commanded them to convey His messages to the people and call them to worship Him alone, glory be to Him, with no partner.
The Holy Quran mentions many stories of prophets and messengers for the sake of admonition and exhortation and to know how this religion reached us, and to take a lesson from those who came before us and what happened in their times and what is the similarity between our lives and their lives in terms of values and constants and defending the truth and refuting falsehood and fighting it by all possible means and methods.
First: The story of the Prophet of God (Adam), the father of mankind, peace be upon him:
Who among us does not know our master “Adam” peace be upon him, the father of mankind, and his famous story with the accursed Satan and how he categorically refused to prostrate to our master “Adam” and disobeyed the orders of his Lord, glory be to Him?!
How could our master Adam, peace be upon him, seek forgiveness and repent to his Lord, glory be to Him, when he disobeyed his Lord? God, glory be to Him, sees what is in our souls and forgives and pardons whoever He sees good in his heart. He forgave our master Adam, peace be upon him, and his wife when they ate from the tree that He had forbidden them, but He did not forgive Satan when he disobeyed His command and did not prostrate to our master Adam, peace be upon him.
In many verses of the Holy Quran, we are told the story of “Adam” peace be upon him, and how he was created from dust and had offspring on earth after he left Paradise and married the lady “Eve”, and how the first murder occurred in humanity when Cain killed his brother Abel, and buried his body under the dust when God sent him a raven and he was at that time among the regretful.
Allah the Almighty said in Surat Al-Ma’idah: (And recite to them the news of the two sons of Adam in truth, when they offered a sacrifice, and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. He said, “I will surely kill you.” He said, “Allah only accepts from the righteous. If you were to stretch out your hand against me to kill me – I would not stretch out my hand against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds. Indeed, I want you to bear my sin and your sin.” Then you will be among the companions of the Fire. That is the recompense of the wrongdoers. But his soul prompted him to kill his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. Then Allah sent a raven scratching the ground to show him how to hide the shame of his brother. He said, “Woe to me! I was unable to be like this raven and hide the shame of my brother.” So he became among the regretful.

Second: The story of the Prophet of God, “Idris,” peace be upon him:
It was mentioned in the Qur’an that he was called Idris, peace be upon him, because he was the first to study the written revelation. The Prophet of God, Idris, peace be upon him, was the first to be given prophecy after our master Adam, peace be upon him, and Seth. He was the first to write with a pen and sew clothes.
God Almighty raised his prophet “Idris” to a high place, and he informed our prophet “Muhammad” peace be upon him that he was in the fourth heaven.
It was mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surat Maryam, where God Almighty said: (And mention in the Book, Idris. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet, and We raised him to a high station.)

Third: The story of the Prophet of God, “Hud,” peace be upon him:
The story of the Prophet of God, “Hud,” peace be upon him, was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an in many Surahs. In some Surahs it was mentioned in detail, such as Surat Al-A’raf, Hud, Al-Mu’minun, Ash-Shu’ara, and Al-Ahqaf. In other Surahs it was mentioned in a brief, concise manner, such as Surat Fussilat, Adh-Dhariyat, Al-Qamar, Al-Haqqah, and Al-Fajr. In addition, the Holy Qur’an has a Surah named after the Prophet of God, “Hud,” peace be upon him, in which his story was mentioned, peace be upon him.
The story of the Prophet of God, “Hud,” peace be upon him, revolves around the fact that God Almighty sent His Prophet, “Hud,” to his people to call them to worship God alone, with no partner, and to abandon the worship of the idols they worship, which neither harm them nor benefit them.
We were not from his people except that they belittled him and mocked him and insisted on their tyranny and injustice, and spent the night therein ignorantly. So God Almighty punished them with the worst punishment by sending upon them a violent wind that completely uprooted them, and no one was saved from it except the Prophet of God, “Hud,” peace be upon him, and those who believed with him from his people.
The Holy Qur’an has told us about the torment that befell the people of the Prophet of God, Hud, peace be upon him, in various expressive verses. God saved Hud and those who believed with him, as God Almighty said in Surat Al-A’raf: (So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We eliminated the last of those who denied Our verses, and they were not believers.)
Allah the Almighty said in Surat Hud: (And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and We saved them from a severe punishment. And those were the ‘Aad people. They denied the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the command of every obstinate tyrant. And they were pursued in this world by a curse and on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, the ‘Aad disbelieved in their Lord. So away with the ‘Aad, the people of Hud.)
God Almighty said in Surat Ash-Shu’ara: (But they denied him, so the punishment of the Day of Darkness seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible Day.)
Allah the Almighty said in Surat Fussilat: (As for the ‘Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, “Who is mightier than us in strength?” Did they not see that Allah, who created them, was mightier than them in strength? And they used to deny Our signs. (15) So We sent upon them a furious wind during days of misfortune that We might make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the life of this world. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgraceful.) And they will not be helped.
