The story:

One of the most sad love stories, a true story told by its owner, who is a resident of Mecca…

When I was only four years old, my mother separated from my father and returned to her parents’ house, leaving me in my father’s house, which was about a hundred and twenty kilometers away from our home. My father married another woman, and as for me, my life became miserable, moving from one house to another among my uncles, as my stepmother hated my presence in her house.

I lived a nomadic life until I reached the age of sixteen. I was not interested in my education at all and was dismissed from school because of my bad behavior. Everyone around me began to complain about my bad morals, and I even got tired of myself. I decided to join a military course, and I actually graduated with the rank of soldier. From that moment on, my situation in life began to change for the better, little by little. When I returned home, I found that my father had proposed to my cousin without asking my opinion about the matter in the first place. My cousin was a religion teacher, and I certainly agreed to marry her. Who would accept marrying a Dasher like me in the first place?!

At that time, I could not believe that she had agreed to marry me, and from time to time I coveted her monthly salary. It was the year 1428 AH, and I was able to marry her. They brought her to me just two hours before dawn. She was the one who started the conversation, and the first thing she said was that she asked me how I was. The strange thing was that she was the first one to ask me about my condition throughout my life. She changed her wedding clothes, performed ablution, and came to me with the prayer mat. She asked me to perform ablution like her, and then she asked me to pray with her. I certainly stuttered during the prayer, and how could I not stutter? The last prayer I prayed was in the month of Ramadan three years ago, when I was forced to do so?!

Anyway, I prayed two rak'ahs with her as she wanted, and after we finished praying, I found her saying to me: “There is an hour and a half left until dawn. What do you think about us going to pray in the Haram and then eating breakfast and going to sleep?”

And of course I agreed, and how could I not agree with everything she said when she accepted me as her husband? We prayed Fajr in the Haram, and this prayer was the turning point in the course of my entire life. Imam Shuraim led us in prayer at the time, and I did not know him, but my wife told me his name. He recited to us in the first rak’ah (Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”)

During the prayer, I went to another world. I was certain that the verses were meant for me. After we finished the dawn prayer, we had breakfast and went to sleep. Two weeks had passed since my marriage to her, and I found her looking at me with tenderness and saying to me: “What do you think about me reviewing the Holy Quran with you?!” How could I review the Holy Quran with all its greatness when I only memorized four Surahs: Al-Fatihah, Qul Huwa Allahu Ahmad, and Al-Mu’awwidhat?! I told my wife what I had memorized and that even my recitation of the four Surahs was a broken recitation. She held my hand, smiled slightly, and began to teach me the short Surahs.

I found her asking me to register my name in a Quran memorization class in the Haram, which was between Maghrib and Isha, and of course I agreed and registered my name. If my wife had asked me to do anything for her, she was an ideal wife in every sense of the word. She had all the qualities that any man would wish for. She was intelligent, religious, beautiful, and the daughter of respectable people. She was also a full-time employee, and despite her job, she was very organized and took great care of me.

We used to go to the Haram before the Maghrib call to prayer, pray the Maghrib prayer, and after that I would go to the memorization circle, and my wife would go to the women’s section to teach the women and give religious lessons. I continued until, in a short period of time, I had memorized thirteen parts of the Holy Qur’an. I was quick to memorize and my voice was distinctive. At work, I got a promotion in a city far from Mecca. In the new city, I would seize the opportunity when the imam of the mosque was absent, so I could lead the people in prayer instead of him.

After that, I found my wife insisting that I complete my education, and indeed I completed high school. Then I found her insisting even more that I join the University of Islamic Sharia as a part-time student, and indeed I did not refuse her request, so I joined. She was always helping me with my studies as if she were my beautiful, private teacher.

One day in the year 1433 AH, I was surprised by an advertisement for a position as an Imam and preacher in one of the mosques. It was a small mosque. I applied for the advertisement and was accepted for the job. My wife was like the whole world to me. She was the only heart that cared for me. She revived me. After I was homeless and lost in life, wandering aimlessly, not knowing where to go, thanks to her, after Allah the Almighty, I became a graduate of the College of Islamic Law, an Imam and preacher to the people. If Allah the Almighty would grant us children after that, I worked hard in supplication and treating her. One day, we had to go to the doctor in another city, and while I was driving the car, we were in a terrible accident. I did not know at the time what happened or the reason behind the accident, but all I realized was that I had lost my wife, the only support I had in this life!

She revived me and died!
